Unhappy testicular cancer???

hey
i keep getting aches and pains in the groin and testicles. i did some searching on the net and these symptoms can be connected to testicular cancer. i have not noticed a lump but i am still concerned. could this be testicular cancer or is it something else?
thanks.

I'm not a doctor but I would doubt its cancer. I had the same scare but I found a lump. However it was not attached to the testicle itself. It was attached to the epididimus. It turned out it was just an epididimal cyst. If it was cancer it would be a very hard painless lump (feels like a stone about the size of a pea) attached to the testicle itself.

Do be aware though that the most common form of cancer for males aged 16-30 is testicular cancer. Even though I doubt its cancer (could be cramps...I know my testicals seems to ache when I get bad gas pains) you might want to go see your doctor anyways just to clear your mind. It cleared mine when I went.

That question is what keeps Brandye, our resident doc. and thousands of others gainfully employed. Go see a doc. This doc. has spoken.

Thanks, Doc!

The chances that it is testicular cancer are very low. There are a thousand (literally) things that could give you pains and some of them should be addressed. I do not recommend you fart your balls off as pozz does to clear his mind, but I do recommend that you see your doctor with as complete a description as you can develop of when and where and in what situations the pain occurs. Take notes! I love my patients who document everything. Most of it is useless but often leads directly to a diagnosis.

We have generally made women aware of the impotance of self-examination for breast cancer. It does help at a clinical level regardless of some studies that death rates are unaffected. I am encouraged to find a man who understands the importance of self-exam for testicular cancer.

Pozz does a great service by telling men what to look for.
