i need advice

I started the pill and on the first day on the pill we had sex w/o a condom. The doctor said that i would be protected. i had just finished my peroid so i did not think i would have ovulated yet. i want to take a hpt but i dont know when and i have looked all over on the net and nothing gives me times and i have no idea when i ovulate. Any suggestions?

alright i have another question. i take centrum chewables will that effect my bc pills? and how much caffeine is a problim?

It is very unlikely that you became pregnant the day after your period. If you read the instruction sheet with the pill, it will say to use a backup method for either seven days or one full cycle. I recommend one full cycle.

Nothing can tell specifically when YOU ovulate - normally the fourteenth or fifteenth day.

Read the sticky on top of this forum and your questions will be answered. The Centrum is no problem.

it said one week my doctor said i was protected the first day i took it. but i dont belive that. thanks i plan on takeing a hpt at the end of the cycle.

Yea I mean how can anything be effective its first day really? It hasn't even had time to get into your system.
My DR said "the packet says use a backup method for the first 7 days but I recommend going thru one complete pack=cycle and then you'll be ok"

it is a bit late for that we have not used a backup should i start or is it too late?

The first day after a woman's period pregnancy is possible but highly unlikely. It is unlikely that this will mess up your cycle but I have my patients use a backup for the first complete cycle.

Either you misunderstood the doctor or the doctor was wrong. Read the package insert.
