Exclamation periods while pregnant?

i'm not pregnant or anything.. well at least i hope not. cuz i've been on birth control for about a month and a half and the last two times i did anything sexual was 6 1/2 weeks ago, and then 3 weeks ago.. but i did have my period.

someone told me tho, that you could be pregnant and have completely normal periods. what's up with that? plus, i've been feeling nauseous and gasey, so i'm getting nervous.

Having spotting is common while pregnant, especially for the first month. "Completly normal" is very unusual but not completely unheard of. One sometimes sees a news account of a woman having a baby with absolutely no knowledge that she was pregnant. Weel, it is newsworthy, so that tells you something and we doctors are highly dubious of these reports.

Assuming that you have taken the pill regularly and as directed, the chance of your being pregnant is extremely low. There is a higher likelihood that your body is adjusting to the increased hormones than your being pregnant.
