Light period on new pills

Hey guys

i have a question. So i just switched my birthcontol pills, and now its time for my period it started on the day i usually get it..but it was really really light, almost not even there. And it was like brown and not really full out blood and its been getting less and less. So my question is that should i count this as my period? and is it light because of the switch of pills. Also i had sex twice with my boyfriend, but he withdrew before ejaculation, so is this a really bad sign? (the light period)

Expect that your new periods are barely non-existent and will grow even more so. But if you feel worried about it, it wouldn't hurt to talk to a physician.

Most women have lighter periods on the pill than they had previously. It varies with the woman and the pill.If you expereince what anna describes, that is nearly no period, talk to your prescriber.

I just switched to new pills....my others were causing mood swings....
but my period started on monday..or i think it did..and it was just like light spotting..and its not really bleeding...just yesterday it was brown-ish..and now its not really happening anymore

Not unusual. Give the new pill a few months before deciding. Contact your prescriber if it really bothers you.

I called my doctor today and she said that it was normal to have a really light period sometimes on the pill...especially since i just started this new one...and if it happens again next cycle i should go in for a preg. test...haha a lot of freaking out for nothing.
