Non-Hormonal Options

What are the non-hormonal birth control options that are out there and what are the benefits and unwanted side effects? I know about the latex condom and spermicide and I have also heard about a female condom, a cervical cap, and a diaphragm but I don't know much about them. So, any info would be appreciated. Also, would a cervical cap or diaphragm work for someone with a tilted uterus?

You are asking for a textbook in a post. Go to the Planned Parenthood site and review all your alternatives. Then, you can put each of them, individually, into google and find everything from marketing campaigns to clinical trial results. The diaphragm would work with a tilted cervix and the cap may depending upon the tilt. In this day and age I would recommend you look at other methods. I do still have patients on the diaphragm and they would not change for anything.

In the meantime see "Which Birth Control for Me" in Chick Chat.

If you then have specific questions, post here or pm me.

Doodlebug, I guess I'm going to go dig with you, because that's exactly what I'm trying to find. I've been on bcp's for years and just don't want to go that route again. But...ummm...events of the past few weeks demonstrated I need a form of birth control more reliable than condoms.
