Switching Birth Control Pills

I've been having a lot of problems with the current birth control pill I'm on which is Nortrel 7/7/7. During the second month of this I was having mood changes and constantly getting angry and upset over everything but then in my 3rd month I was feeling a little btter. Last month was my 4th and it was horrible. I missed two pills (one being the first pill of the pack) so I don't know if that caused it or not but I'm tired of waiting and waiting to see if this is going to go away. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to switch pills and I was wondering when I switch when this side effect (mood changes) is going to go away or what other changes might occur? I'm tired of feeling like this and I want to feel like I'm myself again. If this is going to cause more problems for me I was thinking about not taking the pills anymore.

every brand is slightly different so there are good chances that you can continue to try them untill you have one that maches with your body if you stick with it you should have no side effects on the right pill.

We can't answer your question definitively. Ask your doctor. She knows what else you are taking and what pills have been tried in the past. Mood swings are not uncommon and they usually level out after a month or so. The exception is younger women whose natural hormones are still varying. It is difficult for patients under about eighteen to tell whether the pill is causing this or whether it is normal adolescence.
