i started birth control about 2 weeks ago.. and i'm on my second row right now. now all of a sudden, i'm bleeding. not much to be a period, but just like spotting, you know? is this bad? could i be pregnant or something.

i'm a virgin, but i've done other things recently so.. idk what the chances are.

i'm neither a women nor a doctor... but my understanding is that when you become pregnant, the bleeding stops...

that being said, I may not be right... and there could be other issues... so you likely want to talk to your doctor.

When I first started taking the BC pill... I had breakthru bleeding.. which is what you are having.... for almost 2-3 weeks. Then I got my period... which seemed normal and after it stopped I didn't have any trouble.
I have been on the pill a few years and maybe once or twice this has happened where I'll get a little breakthrough bleeding. Not sure why it happens but you shouldn't have anythng to worry about.

Break-through bleeding is very common when going on the pill. If it happens next month, call the doctor. Otherwise, quite normal.

Possibly, we all react a little differently to new chemicals in our bodies.

I know that when i started on the Pill, I had break through bleeding and was concerned so I rang my Local family planning centre and spoke with one of the nurses there who reassured me that it was normal and that if it didn't stop to double up my pills for a few days and that would do the trick. Luckily I didn't need to do this but it was nice to know that I could speak to someone about it other than my mother.

According to Planned Parenthood's website, bleeding between periods is a side effect that will usually go away within two or three months:
