Lack of doctors in small town areas is a huge problem in Canada. Furthermore, many of the existing small-town doctors are close to retirement, and new ones are generally not coming to replace them.

That is why there is a big controversy now over "private" health clinics where people can pay extra money to get better access to doctors.

I'm on it, and unfortunately have a horrible memory. My sister is the same way but says that it doesnt matter. She'll take hers sometimes in the morning, middle of day, or night, depending on when she remembers. So this scares me, and I'll tell her about it.
How do you get yourself to remember everyday though? My phone doesnt have an alarm so I'm finding it kind of difficult.

She must develop some system. As she brushes her teeth to go to bed; when the evening news comes on; on way to her first class each morning. The pill has a nil failure rate for 30+ yo women but a very measureable rate for teens. Too bad it takes a real scare to get some women to remember.

Actually, the weird thing is my doctor didnt tell me I had to take it at an exact time either. And I was talking to my friend whos also on it and her doctor told her to try taking it in the morning, that way if she forgets she has all day to remember. Whereas if she was taking it at night and forgot she would have to wait all night.

What my doctor said is that I don't have to take it at the *exact* same time everyday... but approximately. Say you take it at 9am one day, then at 11pm the next day, there is over a day and a half between pills.

Yea I think that is too big of a time gap. The more routine and timely you take your pill, Im pretty sure would make its efficacy better. I take my pill at roughly 11pm. That is usually around the time when I am going to bed or getting ready for bed. Some nights I have taken it as early as 10pm or as late as 12 or 1. I try not to tho, and try to adhere to my routine.

What I dont get is that they tell you to start taking them on the Sunday after your period when you first begin. (Or at least my doctor did) And that I would get my period on a Tuesday. But yet theres 21 days of the hormone pills and then 7 days of placebos... well the Sunday and Monday right before my period I'm taking placebos... and my period ends on the Monday the next week when I've already been back on the hormone pills for two days. Shouldnt the placebos just be on the days when I'm having my period?

I wish I had thought to take them at night. I didnt want to take them in the morning because I frequently wake up at different times, so I decided noon would be a good time to take it. For some reason I forgot that that would mean I have to take them to school with me everyday. Is it possible to slowly switch times? Like I know we were talking about the whole taking it at the same time, but what if, I was to take one at noon the one day, and keep adding half an hour to my time everyday so that eventually I was at night? Would that not work? So it would take me like 3 weeks to change it to 10:30/11 which is what I would prefer.

If your doctor tells you to start on Sunday, then you start on Sunday. If you are still on your period when it comes time to start the next pack, you start the next pack. No breaks.
