Meoman is on a distinguished road
Okay, my partner and I have been having sex for a while and we have been using condoms because we don't want to have any kids for the time being.

The thing is, I read from a site that 3 days after a womens period is a safe day and you can't get pregnet on that day.

I would really like to know if this is true so I could plan something nice for that day.

Thanks in advance.

though there is a small window where it is less likely that a girl will get pregnant, that comes during and right after her period i think, there is no day that is 100% safe to have sex without the risk of pregnancy. what if her ovular cycle is off and her ovaries spun one in the tube early? I haven't read up on it in a while, but from what little i remember, each egg takes pretty much a whole cycle to travel from the ovaries, through the fallopian tubes to the uterus, at which point it attaches itself, and if unfertilized sheds itelf and whatever else. at any point in the fallopian tube, the sperm can fertilize the egg. so unless one of the resident experts corrects me, there's almost always a chance.

Vaga... that sounds good to me
Especially w/ younger females..ovulation is pretty much never on a set schedule.
Also, sperm can live like 3-5 days inside a woman...or something like that.
So even if you had sex on a "safe day" but then 3-4 days later she ovulated...theres a chance there could be a sperm still hanging around.
I wouldn't risk it...but thats just me

Here is a quote from the Planned Parenthood site about this method...there is A LOT more to it than just saying...oh its 3 days after my period.

poor record keeping

illness and lack of sleep affect body temperature and may interfere with the temperature method

changes caused by vaginal infections and douches may interfere with the cervical mucus method

Short answer: that is wrong.

Froom a search engine look up menstrual cycle or fertility cycle or some such. You will find many graphs and probably a few sites pushing "natural birth control." What you will learn is that the likelihood of getting pregnant is lowest during the menstrual flow and highest in the middle of the monthly cycle. However, as Demon has laid out, there are many reasons for this to have exceptions.

In younger women, especially, things are not that regular. If the period is not absolutely regular, neither will ovulation be regular. During the period known as adolescence, which can last into the twenties, women's hormonal balance is being sought by her natural body. During this time, ovulation and menstruation can even be together. I have had more than one patient become pregnant during her period.

I recommend that unless on hormonal birth control, condoms and vaginal spermicide both be used. During the period, skip the jelly but still use a condom. There are some Golden Posts and Chick Chat threads that get into this in more depth.
