do you need a prescription? YES...USUALLY THIS INVOLVES GOING TO THE DR AND GETTING A PELVIC EXAM

do you need to be 18? NO

arent there clinics where they give them for free? CHECK FOR A PLANNED PARENTHOOD OR LOCAL CLINIC IN YOUR AREA...ALSO LOOK AT THE PLANNED PARENTHOOD WEBSITE

what is the difference between cheap birth control and expensive birth control? HUH? JUST LIKE EVERY MEDICATION THERE ARE DIFFERENT BRANDS AND FORMULAS...SOMETIMES THINGS COME IN A GENERIC FORM

what's the cheapest? SEE ABOVE....BESIDES... WHEN IT COMES TO B/C WOULD YOU REALLY WANT TO SKIMP ON THE QUALITY, LOL.

When you go to the DR you usually dont just go in and ask for a specific brand.
The DR decides what formula is right for you. There are 20+ different kinds and sometimes it takes trying 1 or 2 to see what works best w/ you body.
I suggest your girlfriend does some research online about BC pills to see what she should do.
B/C pills are just some magical thing that lets you have sex whenever... as w/ everything else having to do w/ sex.. you must be responsible and take them correctly.

YES!

thats what I said before
Also, if you are in college its good to try the health clinics there. That is where I started out going to the Gyno and getting my pills. I got my pills for like $10-12 a pack.

hmmm yea, they have a really confusing website.

so *i will ask you(if you dont mind)

do you have to make an appointment or can you just walk in and ask for free birth control?

do they need her parents permission to give them to her?

does her mom have to go there with her?

am i guaranteed that they will give it out for free?

Some health centers charge according to income. Costs vary from community to community, based on regional and local expenses. Contact your nearest Planned Parenthood health center 1-800-230-PLAN for information about costs in your area.

Thats straight from the PP site
I mean usually people make appts to see DRs unless you want to walk-in and be sitting there like all day =\
Some places its free...some just discounted...some you need parents permission...some dont... every town/state is different.
When I went the first time, I was of age so I dont have the answers to your questions when its referring to a minor.
How old is your g/f and why isn't she here asking these questions?
Her best bet is to just make an appt at a planned parenthood or local health clinic and talk to someone.
They can answer ALL these questions and any others she might have.
They dont just go handing out free pills to anyone who walks off the street. Some education is needed as well.
