Hi, I'm really confused and need some help please. My girlfriend has just now told me she has gential herpes. We have had sex twice, both times with a condom and she has told me she is 'inbetween' outbreaks so it has been safe. However I read on the net that you can still get herpes even if a person is 'inbetween' outbreaks and even if you use a condom!? Also during sex she has rubbed my knob on her clit before I had put on a condom. I am confused to as to whether I am at risk or not, she says it is fine, I don't want to hurt her, but I don't know what to believe!?

Hi Paul,
If your bare penis came in contact with her bare vagina, it is possible that you could contract herpes. It mainly depends on whether she has an active outbreak, but not always. Look here: LINK Look over the whole site. You can also do a Google search for "herpes". Hope this helps.
