Help!

Hey, this is my first post! I'm having a little bit of a problem. I've been on the pill for about 2 years. I take it at 11:00 every night, i've only been about an hour or so late like 2 or 3 times.Me and my boyfriend always use condoms. But on thursday i'm going to get surgery on my wrist and they are going to have to give me an antibiotic shot which i know will weaken the pill, plus i will be getting my period next thursday (i think the date is decemeber 8th). On saturday, its my 20th birthday and i'll be spending the day with my boyfriend which means lots of sex and naked-ness lol. My boyfriend happens to smoke cigarettes and pot and i heard that lowers sperm count. Will i be safe with the condoms? We always use condoms regardless but if we use them as correctly as possible, will i be ok? I'm very worried . I was all excited about my birthday, i get to spend it with my boyfriend but then i found out tonight that the doctor will be giving me an antibiotic shot and it like ruined everything for me. If anyone can help me, i'd appreciate it sooo much! Thanks

I think you will be alright.
Brandye always suggests using a separate spermicide jelly/foam w/ condoms. Not just spermicide condoms b/c they usually dont put enuff on there.
Anyhow, using a little dab inside the tip of the condom and a little bit in the vagina, used w/ a condom can catch any accidents you might have w/ a condom.

I cant afford spermicide, i had to go crazy looking for a few bucks just to buy a box of condoms today. Hopefully my birth control pill will still have some sort of an effect and protect me at least a little just incase anything happens. I heard that you can only use spermicide once a day, i cant remember where i saw it but it said you can only use condoms with spermicide only once in 24 hours, is that true? If it isnt,i'll try to save up a few extra bucks for some. How much does it usually go for, like the foam kind of spermicide? Anyway thanks sooo much for your help. I'm most likely being overly paranoid but then again i could be dealing with an unwanted pregnancy if anything happens.Thanks again

The instant you get a shot of anti-biotics, your hormonal birth control has been rendered useless. You are at risk. If you cannot afford spermicide, you cannot afford risking pregnancy. Babies cost a helluvalot more than a tube of vaginal jelly. You describe not just having sex but having a "full" weekend. It is very important that you back up the condoms with regular replenishing of spermicide. You can safely use spermicide hourly during a sexual marathon such as you are describing. Get foam, jelly, film, suppositories, sponges or whatever you prefer but get something.

With the pill being rendered ineffective by the anit-biotic, you are likely to ovulate no matter where you are in your cycle. The pill will have no lingering effect.
