Using any form of hormonal birth control is messing with the endocrine system - hormone levels. The dosages and mixtures on the market work for most women most of the time. There are more than forty pills on the market and sometimes we have to change several times before we get one that is right. Right means effective as a contraceptive with acceptable side effects.
Demon has answered straight. The sex drive can be lowered to the point that you do not even want to have an orgasm. There is a pill that will work. Talk with your presecriber; she has been through this with other patients. Lately. the ring has become a bit more popular because it releases much lower doses of estrogen into the system. You may want to ask about that. Most women have no problems with the ring. Although I do not need birth control, I did wear a non-medicated one for a couple months. Neither partners nor I ever noticed it.
