Hey everyone,

My girlfriend just started taking birthcontrol. She is taking something called Tri-cyclen.

Is this a good form of protection, and is there anything that she should be aware of while taking it?

I take Ortho Tricyclen lo
There are TONS of different formulas of BC and it all depends on what works best for different women.
Some cause more side effects in some women than others.
They are all basically the same percentage of protection
There is a lot of stuff you should know before deciding to take BC pills.
The DR should have gone over all of that with her and if not, she should ask hin/her or a nurse about any questions she has.

I take Ortho Tri Cyclen and it's been working great for me but as demon said every woman is different. The first pill I was on was called Yasmin and it caused me to have really bad break outs on my face. I went to my doctor and talked to her and that's when she switched me. So everyone is different. If she starts to have any trouble with this pill then have her go to her doctor as soon as she can and get it straightened out.

Most hormonal BC is approximately 99% effective when used CORRECTLY... thats the key.
Doesn't matter if its the patch or any kind of brand of pill
