Exclamation

I've heard that you can't take Advil and Aleve and other medicines like that. Is Tylenol okay to take? I've been getting headaches lately due to stress and I'm scared to take any kind of headache medicine because I don't want it to interfere with my pill (Yasmin). Can anyone help me?

Review all medicines that you are taking with your health care provider, including herbal supplements and non-prescription medicines. Tell your health care provider if you are on long-term treatment with any of the medicines below, because you may need a blood test to find out if Yasmin is right for you.

NSAIDs — ibuprofen (Motrin®, Advil®), naproxen (Naprosyn®, Aleve®, and others) when taken long-term and daily for treatment of arthritis or other diseases or conditions
Potassium-sparing diuretics (spironolactone and others)
Potassium supplements
ACE inhibitors (Capoten®, Vasotec®, Zestril®, and others)
Angiotensin-II receptor antagonists (Cozaar®, Diovan®, Avapro®, and others)
Heparin
from fda.gov
Doesn't mention tylenol and only the other two when taken on a daily basis not just every once in awhile for headaches.
Also the effect is something to do w/ your blood, my guess would be thinning/clotting. It doesn't mention not taking it b/c it reduces the effectiveness.

Potassium-increasing drugs. Tell your doctor if you are on daily, long-term treatment for a chronic condition with any of the following: NSAIDs-ibuprofen (Motrin®, Advil®), naproxen (Naprosyn®, Aleve®, and others) when taken long-term and daily for arthritis or other diseases or conditions, Potassium-sparing diuretics (spironolactone and others), Potassium supplementation, ACE inhibitors (Capoten®, Vasotec®, Zestril®, and others), Angiotensin-II receptor antagonists (Cozaar®, Diovan®, Avapro®, and others), and Heparin. Women who take any of the preceding drugs every day should have their potassium level checked in the first month of taking YASMIN.
K found this on Yasmin site... apparently it has to do w/ the potassium. Yet again its if you take it everyday.
I just did a google on yasmin and advil.
If still not sure ask your pharmacist/dr.

same ? on another board

As usual, demon gives good advice and does the research young women should do themselves. Never mind what you heard. I heard that the pill worked as a suppository. Do not count on it. Find a reputable source and get the real answers.

If women take acetiminophen (Tylenol) all day, every day, it will interfere. An occasional tylenol for a headache is fine. As everything else with sex, you measure your chances and see what is worth it.

Also, I have read somewhere that chamomile could interfere with the pill, as well as a consatnt overdose on Vitamin C.
