Unhappy

I wasn't positive about this but I know the white pills in Yasmin is when you are supposed to get your period. I took my first white pill last night and I was wondering if they still worked as a birth control pill or are they just there to remind you to take your pills and it's like going without taking a birth control pill for 7 days?

I'm not sure about Yasmin, but usually those would be either reminder pills, or iron fortified reminder pills. Just do what your doctor told you to do, safer that way. The pills itself are without hormones...usually. However, this is how my doc explained it to me. It is safe to have sex even then you're on reminder pill. The combination pill works in 2 ways. It thickens the mucus around the cervix, and the other way is that it "holds off" release of eggs. So even if you get your period, there is no egg to be fertilized. I don't think I explained it too well though. I'm sure Brandye would do a far better job than I ever could

Take the pills EXACTLY as prescribed and make sure you are not taking some supplement or other medication that would interfere and you are safe all the time.

The origin of the white pills was to keep women in the habit of every day, same time. The combination estrogen/progestin regimens simply change the mix. Take them.

Each woman adapts differently to each specific brand and mixture in hormonal contraception. Some stop having periods for a month or so. Probably nothing to be concerned over if you are not taking other medication or supplements.

Do talk your doctor.

I am on a sunday start too and I usually dont start my period till sometimes wednesday/night which would be the 4th placebo pill
Also, your body might take awhile to get used to having its period every month since seasonale doesn't do that.
