ive heard of clinics and speciallists on here but there is no "sex" specialist like ive read on here in my city. its a bigger city too. what kind of a doctor would i go to, to get checked out.

also, my problem, its not serious i just want to get it checked out. my penis is slightly more irritable now. when i pee and masterbate. its not really a burning. it actually gives me a hard on more often. but its just not normal. im 18 by the way, the only thing i could think of if its not an std is like an infection which should still probably be checked. thanks.

The place to start is with your family doctor, gp, internist or whatever she or he is called where you live. We all see and deal with these issues every day. You are correct that it could be a urethritis. No matter what it is, you need treatment. None of these things get better by themselves. If you are in school, the school nurse or clinic is a starting point. Any Planned Parenthood office can advise you on what free services are available locally.

well i am in college and i havnt stayed current with my insurence, i have to keep them updated on my grades to be under my parents insurence... so once i get everything right with them i think i may go to a family doctor...because the symtoms are fading away and maybe its just an infection.

It would still be a good idea to go because with some STIs the symptoms will come and go. It's always better to be safe than sorry and if it gets worse there could be a lot of trouble for you later.

Is there a clinic on campus that you can go to? I know where I go they will check you out for free if you're a student there. Maybe you could look into something like that.

Until you obtain diagnosis and treatment, abstain from sexual contact with other people. You may indeed have an STD or other infectious ailment.

I got to my college's clinic for my female exam and to get BC pills. I am sure this is a majority of what they see besides the common flu/cold etc.
My college even has a specific section dedicated to JUST getting std and AIDS testing/education.
I am sure most colleges do.

That's the way it is where I go to school. The greatest thing is that the annual exams and STD testing are free. Even some of the treatments for the STDs are free.

exactly.
My pills aren't free but they are WAY cheaper than if I was to get them through a regular doctor/pharmacy.
Plus they usually give you free condoms or anything else you want, lol.

well good news and bad news. i dont have any std's but i just had sex again last weekend and im gong through similar symptoms. it is irritation, not burning and i went for a long time. (over an hour). im woundering if it is just a little rough from "getting worked so hard". might still go to family doctor though. thanks everyone.
