Unhappy

I just took the 72 hour pill yesterday on a "better safe than sorry" basis and I'm curious as what I should do next. Is it still too soon to take a pregnancy test? (Intercourse took place early morning on the 26th.) The pill given to me was called Plan B and I was advised to take both of them at the same time 30 minutes after eating something. I am getting crampy and bloated - the whole nine yards of PMS but I'm still not too confident.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Go and ask your doctor or planned parenthood clinic, they can do a pregnacy test for you and advise you best about the situation.

Can I not take a home pregnancy test? Will the influx of hormones change the results?

CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR , PLEASE !

THEY WILL TELL YOU WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ... ASAP !

BRANDEY is the only doctor on this site that I am aware of here.

I believe she would tell you to contact a doctor or clinic in your area for direct facts and care.

You have that right, maggie. Some issues are good for discussion on this board but some things should be dealt with face to face with your doctor or nurse.

Short answer is there is nothing next but to await your period. Plan B is about 75% effective and you now have your hormones out of balance to the point that the effectiveness of a home pregnancy test is questionable.

Whoever provided the Plan B (an excellent choice, by the way) should have explained the next steps. And you should have listened.

I was never informed as to what to do after I took the pill and I did visit my gyno today and she did tell me the same thing. Basically wait it out.

Thanks for your replies.
