My boyfriend and I are planning to spend the night with each other tommorrow. ...I'm on my period.. and, I'm on the pill. But, I just started (its been a month). And I haven't been taking the pills at the same time each day. Also, I haven't been taking the 7 pills that allow me to have a period because they are just placers, right? ...Do you think, other than the fact that STD's and the bleeding, that I would have a greater risk of getting pregant? Because, I want to take a shower with him... And, I'm hoping that if temptation over rules rational thoughts, that I don't get pregant... Thoughts? Opinions? Plus, sex during period?? When we shower I'll have a tampon in so I don't completely freak him out... lol.

It takes the pill usually a full month to start working correctly even tho the packet sometimes says just a week.
Add that to the fact you haven't been taking them correctly, then your body's hormones are probably all over the place.
It's still possible to get pregnant on your period just not as likely.
I can't see how you have sex w/ a tampon in. Someone else before mentioned that they did it, but I just can't imagine, having a tampon shoved WAY up inside me =\ ouch.

I'm not on birth control, and I'm not really familiar with all the factoids about being on it, so I wont comment on that part of the post, but I WILL second demon's last remark! Double OUCH!! Having a tampon shoved that far up inside you does not sound the least bit comfortable nor does it sound in anyway safe... *Besides! You'd be in the shower, which is the cleanest place to do it anyway, with or with out "coverage," if you know what I'm saying (and personally --and this may just be me-- my flow, even at its heaviest, seems to slow down when I take a bath or a shower anyway). I would not suggest leaving a tampon in during sex, period.

AND!! If yall are having sex, your boyfriend should be old enough to understand what's going on with your body, AND adult enough not to "freak out" about it.

I think it would freak him out more if during the shower you were like.. hold on.. and pulled out your tampon.
I mean what do you do w/ it then??
Can't exactly flush it or lay it to the side.
I'm w/ Miz, when I take a shower its not like Im just bleeding all over the place, in fact it slows down.
I can imagine lots of people decide to have period sex in the shower hence the easy clean up. Some guys might freak out, others don't mind doing it in the bed w/ lots of towels.
I myself dont, I'd gross myself out, lol.

Aslong as you take the pill 12 hours within the normal time you take your pill, you should be ok. It depends on which type of pill you take, but i'm on microgynon and it works as soon as you take the first one. I take my pill non-stop, but that's because i get really bad stomach cramps during my period, but it's just as safe to stop whilst on your period. You should be safe going by what you said.

P.s, i'd advise you to not wear a tampon, as it would probably freak him out MORE, not LESS

To think that you will be showering together and not expecting other sexual activity is very naive. If you are not ready to follow instructions on the pill (you do not say which you are on) and think you can be so close without sex you are not emotionally mature enough for sex. Normally you would be quite safe but with your messing around with timing and what you are taking or choosing not to take, who knows whether you are protected or not.

Follow the damned instructions: some systems use placebos, others change the mix but still have hormones.

Sex during your period is no big deal and any man who wants to be sexually active better understand how our bodies function. It is my favorite time but a messs does result.

wouldnt wanna have sex with a tampon in- surely it would just keep getting pushed further in? then you would probably have to get a doctor to remove it! how embarrasing! id rather just explain to my boyfriend and make him wait (or go in the shower with me)

Could lead to toxic shock syndrome as well of it got stuck!
