Milky Discharge

Hi everyone, i'm hoping that i can get a little bit of help here before i head off to the doctor.

I'm 19, female, never had sex but have had oral sex and fingering. For the past few months i have had a white/milky discharge coming from my vagina and sometimes it is itchy. Clearly this isn't good.
What does this mean? is it an infection? thrush?

And also, how did I get it? And how can I prevent it?

Any help would be muchly appriciated. Like i said, i am going to the doctor, but I would like to know what I'm dealing with

Thrush is of the mouth... if its downstairs its a yeast infection... which it could be.. or vaginitis or any number of things.
Best just to get checked out to know for sure.. b/c you can't treat it if you don't know what it is

i have milky discharge too. and a fishy smell. i dont itch tho, but i dont know what it is. maybe the birthcontrol?. if you or anyone else knows please tell me thanks.

Hi, I'm new here. I started having sex for the first time 6 months, but I remember I had something like that to and my dad brought me to the doctor and I had what is called bacterial vaginitis. It was a thick discharge and it smelled fishy, just like you had. They prescribed some medication called metronidazole (?spelling), but that took care of it.

I dunno if this will help but a milky white discharge at the end of your cycle (ie: b4 period starts) is normal..if it is watery and thin...sometimes i get a bit itchy too..but i have been checked and it has been nothing..maybe what type of soap ur using..if its smells fishy...or foul then there is a infection somewhere... but if its just a discharge with no smell its considered normal...just do a lookup on the next under milky discharge..

yes i read that somewhere. maybe ill go get checked then. i go to a free clinic so i dont know if they can give me any meds? does anyone know if they do?...

one more thing....my period is supposed to be starting any day now. do you think it will wash it away, and what i have will go away, or will it get worse?

no your period will not wash it away..and dont' douche cause whatever you have if u douche all ur gonna do is push the infection farther up inside you... and u could end up with it in your tubes ... your better off to go to the doctor and get the meds..if its an infection it won't get better it will just get worse..
