morning after pill?

My gf had a few questions about this..she was wondering do you already have to be on BC to be able to get this or does everybody get the same pill? and how old do you have to be to get this..thanks

I would suggest checking out the planned parenthood site it usually has some useful information about clinics to get it at and such.
No you don't have to be on BC. Thats the point. Most people use it if the condom breaks or something. Which I see from your other post that it didn't.
The morning after pill must be taken 72 hrs from the "accident". The sooner the more effective.

i am not sure if you know this, or the context of your question, but i figured i would just post this as a little tid bit that a lot of people don't know. the morning after pill is not just "take a pill and *poof* you won't get pregnant". it does make you feel really sick for about 24 hours. as far as i know, its icky flu-like symptoms. i am sure that everyone knows that the morning after pill is NOT a form of birth control, but if its just one more reason for people to have safer sex, don't forget the 24 hours of the flu might not be worth one night of unprotected sex!

Ive also known that some people can get really sick from it.
People should know that it isn't some magic pill with no side effects.

Have to be careful if u feel sick- i felt really quite poorly the only time i took it.

Also u cant go out and be irrisponsible- prime example somebody at my Uni went out of the piss and ended up throwing up..... very silly as she could have thrown up the pill and then it would have been the same as not taking it at all!

well, i actually took the 2 pils yesterday, the one i bought was called postinor-2, at some chemists here in australia u have to be over 18 and leave your details, but I found a chemist which let me have it after a short verbal check of what I was experiencing eg/ "are u having any unusual bleeding? Have you used it before?"

The side effetcs on me were not nasea or vomiting, A few hours after I took it, my body from, the bottom of my jaw down to my lower abdomen felt like it had been badly bruised and I had trouble falling asleep that night because I lie on my side and that was causing a lot of pain, has anyone else experienced this? would it be a sign that the pill was working or not working, I'm now worried that it might not have worked or something, then I might be in shit..

The effects of the pill can vary, one of my friends took it and she has no sideeffects of any medication shes ever taken so she didn't have any symptoms- some people might have the bad end and have full fledged symptoms, while I believe I'm somewhere in the middle...
