My girl had mentioned a method of birth control (I think it was a form of the pill or the shot) that either reduced the frequency of her period or stopped it altogether. Any ideas?

Well, I'm a girl and I don't think it would be all that healthy to skip your period for so many months due to something being injected in you.
But hey, I guess it can't be all that bad if they continue to allow people to do it.

Yeah
It would be nice, but Im still kinda iffy. Not even just for the sex part, but just not having that inconvience and the money spent on having your period, lol. Stupid periods!!!

I have heard of this, but I am not convinced that this is safe for women in whole. It is not normal to me not to bleed. I like many women hate when AF is visiting, but I want kids later, so I am going to spend the time on sanitary items, and give a lot of head and hand jobs durring that week, in the long run it won't hurt me in the future for having kids.
SEASONALE® tablets are indicated for the prevention of pregnancy. Women who take SEASONALE® receive 9 more weeks of estrogen and progestin every year than with a same-dose 28-day birth control pill. While this may increase the chance of serious health risks, current studies have not shown an increased risk. Risks with SEASONALE® are similar to those with all birth control pills. Most side effects are not serious and those that are occur infrequently. The convenience of fewer planned menses (4 per year instead of 13 per year) should be weighed against the inconvenience of increased intermenstrual bleeding and/or spotting. Serious risks, which can be life threatening, include blood clots, stroke, and heart attack. Cigarette smoking increases the risk of serious side effects, especially if you are over 35. Women who use birth control pills should not smoke. Some women should not use birth control pills, including women who have blood clots, certain cancers, a history of heart attack or stroke, as well as those who are or may be pregnant. If you are a heavy smoker and over age 35, you should not take SEASONALE®. Birth control pills do not protect against HIV infection (AIDS) and other sexually transmitted diseases.

in my younger years, until a gal was 18, she had to have a parent give her doc the ok to prescribe the pill. i turned 18 and on the pill i went! stayed on for 5 years, turned 23 and stopped taking it. i had some bleeding prblems last year with periods coming on twice a month and heavy heavy bleeding .....dr thought the pill might help lighten the flow and regulate back to once a month and possibly shrink the cyst..... i took maybe 3 weeks worth and quit taking em. flow did lighten some but increased frequency so i seemed to be having my period a whole month nonstop. i was game to give it a try but after i got "cramps" in my 2nd calf, enough was enough. im 45. been a smoker for 30 year. add to that my family history of strokes resulting in death of 3 grandparents ... my thinking says that puts me high high risk and i am NOT willing to risk it.
my personal 2 cents about the pill or shots used as birth control, id use only as last resort. if you are not settled into an exclusive relationship with one partner both vow is married or not til death you do part, i hate to ay this but, why are you putting yourself at risk of an STD or parenthood in the first place? ok celibacy is extreme but so is daily ingesting a man-made chemical just so you can have sex at less risk of pg. if you are in a committed relationship and you and/or partner are not ready to have children, using a rubber is still the option that is safer to your health. not saying safer means of BC, im saying safer as far as health risks to the gal. yes gals, raggin is a bit&^! pms makes us bit*&! we have good reason to bit*& about ALL the money we spend on pads and products..... fact is we ARE women and our lifes cycle is run by mother nature and, (i was taught anyway) she is THE one bit*& NO ONE ought to mess with! |
