I am a young male who recently started engaging in sexual activities. I am going through puberty and have facial and back acne. This morning when i woke up, I observed what looks like a pimple in my pubic hair. I have only had sex once, and I used a condom. Can this be a pimple, or something more serious like herpes. Any advice would be appreciated.

It is probably a pimple and nothing more. At puberty and even into adulthood we get them and they can show up on any part of our body including our genitals. Keep an eye on it and if it is a pimple it will do its thing and go away in a few days. If not or you feel it could be something more then get to a doctor right away and have it looked at.

I can understand your concern if not alarm. You didn't say how long it had been since having sex though as I under stand
from reading your post. I'll go ahead and explain what you may be hinting at. Often when men have unprotected sex and get syphilis a small pimple will appear somewhere on the penis.(as it was inside the female) Syphilis cannot live outside the warmth of the body for more than a few seconds or it will die. Thus the pimple is most likely to be on the penis. The pimple is often called a "shanker", and it is an early warning. We hear about AIDS/HIV all the time now as it is a killer, but syphilis isn't much better. Google can find you loads of info. Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum. Primary syphilis presents as a small painless open sore 3 to 6 weeks after exposure. Although the lesion heals within 6 to 8 weeks, the untreated organism will continue to multiply unchecked, causing many complications. Infection may last for 30 years or more and result in severe neurological complications. Read up as it is in your own best interest.(but from what you are saying....I don't think it sounds like it) eDJ |

i wouldn't rule out syphillis, but i wouldn't consider it the primary possibility.
I'd say it's probably a pimple. I shave my pubes sometimes, and if i let it grow back for a couple weeks, i get ingrown hairs or pimples here and there. i was concerned at first, but they really were just pimples.
