Faraway is on a distinguished road
Hello, this is my first time posting and im wondering, my fiance does not take the pill at the same time everyday it normally varies by a few hours sometimes longer, I am in the military and wont be home for another month. This is the first time that she has taken a pill and prior to me leaving we just used a condom. I am wondering what the importance of taking the pill at the same time everyday is. She says that it is just to get you in the habit of taking it mentally so you dont forget each day but im not to sure about this any help in this matter would be very useful thank you very much.

demonbuttercup is a jewel in the rough
she's partly right
but its also important to take it at around the same time everyday.
i sometimes will be an hour or so off.
i think if you are 1-2 hours off you are ok. someone else asked this question also, but i can't remember what everyone posted lol.
just tell her yes its important that she not wait 4-5 hours from when she is supposed to take it.
its not hard to get used to a specific time. i take mine at night, right before i go to bed.

"IF you forget to take your progestin-only pill for more than three hours past your regular time

Take it as soon as you remember. Take the next pill at the usual time. (This means you may take two pills in one day.) Continue to take the rest of the pack on schedule. Use a back up method of birth control for 48 hours after taking the late pill. Start the next pack on time."

here was one thing i found on planned parenthood. i guess you are ok if its no longer than 3 hours past the time to take it. otherwise use a backup method.
hope this helps.

late reply, I know.

I just stated taking the pill and asked my GP about taking it at the same time each day. She said that I should take it at the same time all the time but if I forget to take it ASAP. She also said as long as its with in 12 hours of when you should take it its OK.

if its after 12 hours, take it, then take your next one at the normal time and stick by the 7 day rule. (7 days before you can be unprotected again)
