I have been on Ortho-Tricyclen-Lo for just over two months now, and I knew that I was going to have my period while I'm traveling over the holidays. (On a bus full of people for over 20 hours) So I decided to skip the green 'placebo' pills and start my new pack immediately. So this Sunday I started my new pack, went to sleep and when I woke up I found that I had started my period! I have taken Monday's pill at my regular time, but I still have my period. Is there any reason for this? I remember hearing something somewhere about "breakthrough bleeding", could it be that?
Thanks in advance for y'alls help. |

hmmm if you skipped a pill thing( i donno to much on pills ) that coulda done something to your period cuz i mean pills are what regulates it ( these are birth control pills right ?? ) You skipped it and it went to soemoen where else in a different cyle in you months so yeah soething woulda happened... i donno too much about this so look it up or ask a doctor.
If it not birth control then it probably did soemthing to your cycle and if it keeps acting up like that for say two months or 3 then get that checked out they may have to give you smaller or bigger dosage depending on what it is doing to your body. |

yes normally skipping the placebo pills and going straight to the new pack would have skipped your period.
altho, like you said you just started only 2 months ago i too started the same ones and im on my 2cd pack. it takes more than 2 months to get your body used to them. i think you picked too early of a time to start messing around w/ your pills say if you had been on them for 6 months and did what you did it probably would have worked.

Seems like that your body is not used to pills yet. I mean, it's only been 2 months. Also, an advice I got from the nurse, before you think of doing something like thta, especially for the first time, talk to your doctor, or at least a nurse. They would know a bit more about it, and be able to help you much much better and keep you safe.
