when i want to have sex my first time i dont want it to be planned, i just want it to be part of the moment. so if there is no birth controll pill are condoms safe enough just by themself. and what kinds are the best? thanks

well of course condoms are better than nothing
i believe theres already a post of best condoms...look around.
i think its says on the package they are like 97% effective. not sure tho

If you use condoms properly they're very effective (95-99%, I don't remember exactly). They key of course is to use them correctly.

If 100 women having regular sex use condoms only for a year, 15 will become pregnant. If you add spermicide in your vagina, this is reduced to about 3.

How exactly are figures like that to be interpreted? I mean, is it saying that if the condom is the only variable, it will fail often enough for 15% of the women to get pregnant? Or is that attempting to take human factors into account, ie not using a condom properly or maybe even forgetting to use it a time or 2?

what about spermicide in the condom??

I guess you could if you wanted to..? The main point of spermicide though is to kill any sperm that make it out of the condom.
