i take ortho tri-cyclen lo, a 28 day pill pack. my doctor told me that i am supposed to start my period when i get down to the last seven pills. i have 4 left now and i still have not started. should i be worried about being pregnant or is this a normal thing when you first start on the pill. i really need some advice on what to do b/c i am kinda scared. thanks for your time.

i take ortho cyclyn, and my period always starts at least 4 days after i stop taking the hormones.. I havent't been pregnant thus far.

Each of us adapts differently to the pill. I have had patients on three or more different formulations until we get one that is acceptable. The differences can be subtle. It is most likely that this will settle down after a month or two. But, it may not. Call and talk to the nurse; she will know what the doctor usually does and how many months to try.

I do hope that you were using other birth control during that first month.
