Unhappy

Hello everyone,
I recently found out I have genital warts and I'm wondering if it's for life. I'm in a new relationship and we were protection always and I'm scared to tell her. Is there a chance they'll go away forever? or will I have to tell everyone I'm with from now on about them?
thanks
-sammy

Genital warts is also called HPV Human Papulious virus, so you will always have HPV, the genital warts can, and usually go away within a year. Are you using anything to treat them? Even if you use a condom the girl can still get it since it's contacted by skin-to skin, so even though you may not have the warts, you will awlays carry the virus, and should tell any new partners about it.

The symptoms of HPV are treatable and may even disapear on their own. However, you will always have the virus, and you will be able to give it to your partner whether or not you have noticeable sympotms.

Condoms may decrease the chances of passing on the virus, but they are not completely effective in protecting against this disease. There may be things you can do to decrease the likelihood of passing it on. You should talk to your doctor about this.

I have an STD myself, so I know how difficult it is to tell people about it. However, you must tell your girlfriend. If you do not tell her, and she catches it from you, you will hate yourself forever. Once you tell her, it will be up to her to decide whether or not she wants to risk catching it.

Girlygirl and sweetuth have said it all. Herpes is forever and genital warts are in that family. It is estimated that by the time we are fifty, more than half of us are carriers of some form of HPV. There are over sixty viruses in this family and most do not cause any real harm. A few do. That one causing warts is one you need tell your partners about.

One of my closest friend contracted both before she was 20.
Shes a champ about , but realizes these are permanent things. Medicine supress's and treats but doesnt extinguish.
Good luck to you, and please make sure you are honest from day one with any partner you intended on having.
