If somebody is on the daily birth control pill which has been prescribed by a doctor, and they take it every day and just as instructed, are they safe from getting pregnant during EVERY SINGLE DAY of their cycle? Even while they are having their period?

No they are not protected daily. The pill is one of the most effective contraceptives, but there is no medication or device that can give a 100% promise pregnancy won't occur. The likelihood of a woman on the pill who takes it regularly getting preganant are rather slim though, almost none.

Yes, they are protected during the entire cycle. Shorty is right about nothing being perfect. If 100 women take the pill as directed and are sexually active, 3-5 will get pregnant in a year. While possible, especially in teens, you are least likely to get pregnant during your period.

While the other girls are right that nothing is 100% effective, the pill is supposed to be effective on all days, even during your period.
