Unhappy

I am pretty sure that I know what it is, and how I got it, but I just needed someone's opinion. I had intercourse this weekend, and I hadn't had it in a while before that. The guy was kind of hurting me, but it wasn't unbearable. Then the next day, I had the worst pain when I urinated. I never felt anything like it before. Then I looked down and there was blood in my pee. Some of my friends told me that It was normal to happen after sex, but if it kept happening, then It may be more serious than that. I am kind of scared, and I need to know if anyone thinks that It might be something other than a bladder infection. Thanks.

If the blood is coming from the vagina (and I am assuming you were not a virgin) and the guy was particularly rough, you might have some damage. However, it is probably urethritis.

Either way, the place for a proper diagnosis and treatment is the doctor's office. You should go see one!

You should have called the doctors office the minute you noticed there was blood in your urine. It's not something to take lightly.

Whoa!! Hold on, folks.

If the blood showed up in your urine and it was painful to urinate the day after sex it is very unlikely that the sex had much to do with it. If you are certain the blood is urinary, that indicates a urethritis; the bladder does not often become infected. It is most likely that you have had a low level urethritis and the activity simply aggravated it. The distances down there are small.

You need to see a doctor and get on whatever she prescribes. STDs would not show up for a fortnight and if he had done any damage, the blood would be around the introitus of the vagina.

Urethritis is common in both men and women. We see it daily.
