Good catch, dubz. In perspective: Of 1 million packets shipped late last year, it is believed that, perhaps, 30 have the pills packaged out of proper order. That is, a week of placebo (inert) pills is one week before or after its proper place. This could have the effect of missing one week's pills and could result in pregnancy. The active pills and the inert pills are different colours. You should notice the switch.

What to do:

1. Outside the US, ignore it; they were distributed in the U.S. only.
2. In the U.S. look at the name of the drug on your prescription label. If it is NOT either "Lo/Ovral 28" nor "Norgestrel & estradiol" (generic version), forget about it. Those are the only labels affected.
3. If it IS one of those names, contact your pharmacy. It is possible that the pills can simply be reordered and they will tell you how to do it. Or, more likely, they will give you replacement packets in return for yours.
4. The manufacturer is Pfizer but they will have been distributed under different corporate names - especially if you have the generic pills.

This is no longer a commonly prescribed pill and your doctor's office should have called you by now. If not, and you have the pills described above, raise hell with the doctor.
