a birth control question.. about pleasing her!

I heard Brandye likes to use something called "foam." I recently purchased a tampon-like product called Controceptral. It contains spermicide. It says to discontinue use if any burning occurs for either person. Well, my girlfriend and I have used it a couple times, the first few were fine, now it burns her whens he pees; and she becomes really wet later in the day. We bought this product for the pleasure of both of us. We are going to discontinue use, and try another product.. I am just wondering if anyone knows why burning occured. Is it different for every female, or are we doing something wrong? It was inserted and released, as directions showed. If anyone has any experience in this area, especially Brandye, any help would be great. Thanks

Well, UTI as they abb. can go away, if you're lucky, or it can lead to kidney infection. And that thing is so not fun. A doc can do a simple urine test and see if it is UTI or not. She can try to wait and see, drink a lot of cranberry juice and water. But if the burning doesn't go away in another day or two, of if she stars getting annoying pains in her back right under the ribs, that hurt a lot more if you smack them (knucklehead doc did that to me to make sure ) then she needs to go in for the test and antibiotics. But hopefully it's nothing. Just get her to read up some on WebMD.

Thank you Brandye. It is just odd that burning sensation occured after using spermicide. She is telling me that the burning gets better after each pee. I think seeing a doctor is a good idea as well, is there any other suggestions you can give as to why the burning is not occuring nearly as painful as to begin with?

Edit: Is there anything that could develop from a urinary infection? Is it just minor? Like I said, she explains to me that the burning sensation is getting weaker and weaker with each pee.

Any of the spermicides can cause a burning sensation in the mucous membrane and folds of the vulva. Regardless of the mode (jelly, foam, etc), the active ingredients are the same.

Burning when you pee is likely not related to the spermicide but is a slight infection in the urinary tract - we all get them.

There are three major spermicides used but the majority are still non-Ox 9. Read the ingredients and change to one with other active ingredients if necessary. There is a post around somewhere in which I listed the ingredients and gave a url to check out.

You are doing nothing wrong and are wise to switch to another spermicide. It may also be worthwhile to get a check for urinary infestion.
