hey guys, hope you're all well. My boyfriend and I are both virgins and have been discussing what contraceptives we want to use for when we sleep together. He basically isn't 100% keen on using a condom (although he wouldn't refuse to) and we discussed me going on the Pill. I;'m cool with this although the problem is I have been told that my family has a history of Thrombosis and so it wouldn't be the best thing to use due to health etc. I wouldn't be very confident on using only a condom either incase it splits. What is spermicide and should we use this? Please help!

Best Type of Contraceptive?!
I am on the shot (Depovera or something like that) and I love it. Its not painful at all, I've had no major side effects (some irritating spotting but that is supposed to go away), and I only have to worry about it every 3 months instead of taking a pill every day, which I am completely incapable of remembering to do.I love not having a period too. But if you have a history of heart problems, smoke, etc. its probably not the best thing for you to do.
Go ahead use spermicide, it's a kind of stuff they have, sort of like liquid by substance I guess, it kills sperm. Also, add on a condom, it will also protect you from STDs or any fun stuff like that. Also, go ahead and talk to your doctor, he mgiht recommend a few methods that will be fine for you, like a diaphragh, or cervical cap or something like that. BEst bet would be to talk to the doctor. Btw, with spermicide, try using one that is spermicide lube, kill 2 birds with one stone.
