My husband has very bad knees due to an accident. I'd like to be on top more to give his poor knees a break. The problem is, when I stradle him it hurts my hips. A lot. Of course he can see my face and knows that I am hurting and doesn't want me to be on top if it hurts me.
My legs, from the knee to hip, are fully extended when I am on top of him. It's anatomically difficult for me to move up and down when I am on top because my legs are already extended when I am on top. The pain in my hips then prevents me from even wanting to move around too much too.
I've never been all that skilled at being on top. Will any of you give me any pointers? I'd really like to show him a good time on a bad knee day for him.
Thank you.

Try him standing with you on the bed on all fours. Depending on height, he should have great access with limited mobility required. Plus my female partners have said it feels better for them too....great at hitting in just the right spot. Well I hope this helps.
Have you tried to squat on him?
It's harder on your knees from the up and down movement and you'll need him to steady you, but you won't have your knees on the bed and will get more height.
I was about to ask a similar question. Being on top is difficult for me, I can't get in a comfortable position and rhythm. I usually get on my knees and place them on either side of his hips and lower myself onto him, then I start rocking back and forth, but I can't get a good steady pace, and it can be uncomfortable for my legs (I'm quite short, at 4'11" and not flexible) to be on either side of him...
I know he would like for me to do some of the work to take the load off of him (no pun intended) but I can't make it feel good for both of us while on top. I'd like to try something like the asian cowgirl but I don't know how to move, do I go up and down or rock back and forth? I've just never gotten it down.
(P.S. I hope it's okay to ask a similar question in someone else's thread, I didn't want to make any more needless redundant threads, and this is my first post yay.)
Good lord how wide is this man? You use the same motion and stance as when riding a horse on an English saddle at the trot. Up and forward then down and back, using the bedsprings to help develop and sustain the motion. Your knees are a fulcrum. Then there's 'scrubbing back and forth' and also leaning over him and moving forward and back along the shaft of his penis.
You aren't going tell me that he's as wide as a horse are you?
Maybe he's as hung as one too....
Lie on him. Lean well forward and let yoiur legs trail down beside his. It is a bit more difficult to gain penetration, but once in, this is about like male superior flipped upside down.
A favorite position of mine is to lie on my back with my legs drped over a male partner lying cross-wise on his side. Gives each of you access to all of the critical parts of yourself and him.
And if he sits on a chair and you sit on him? Does it hurt for you in that case?
I used to have a lot of joint pains... I'm an hour glass figure with a larger (natural) chest... I'm not a heavy gal by any means, and I was never really very physically active (in sports or fitness)
My GP suggested starting out slowly with yoga and changing up my diet. One excercise that I do daily is a full bridge, which entails me laying on my back with my heels firmly pressed to the ground (almost like a back bend, but instead of arching the back with knees bent, your legs are straight and your palms of your hands lift the top of your body off the floor) and pressing my palms to the ground (hands pointed towards feet) to lift my body. I found that this movement not only strenthens the back and leg muscles, but also tones and enhaces the buttocks and hips, which is where all of the movement, when on top, counts.
Now, this is an excercise related form of advice, so I would consult a physician first and work into it slowly. But yoga has many physical benefits, not only for strengthening the connective muscles around the joints, but for overall health (including mental), as well. And it makes for a much more versatile sex life, allowing you perform what may have seemed acrobatic before.
In the mean time, I would suggest using a prop, like a chair or a narrow table that will allow you to take more of a "standing" approach. Just one question... have you ever tried a swing? They are relatively inexpensive.
Yoga teaches so much...focus, strengthening, relaxation, and stretching...
Combine these techniques with some weight training & cardio; it's a good combo!

Original poster (littlebug) or me?
It's not that he's wide, it's my legs. My boyfriend's average sized (both height, weight, and penis), 5'10" and 180-190lbs, I'm guessing, but my legs are extremely short, from my crotch to ankle is 21" (I have a hereditary bone condition making me have short stature and pain), getting them around him isn't easy for me.
And the movement was a question because I am sexually inexperienced, he's my first partner, so I'm just trying to figure out what most do, because I've seen in porn women bounce up and down and other times doing what you described.
I don't know what it is to ride on a horse English saddle style, it's been about 10 years since I last came in contact with a horse.
