Hi, I have a question, this is kind of out of the ordinary for me, I had a period that started two weeks ago, and it was normal, it lasted for six days. This past Thursday, I started bleeding again, it wasn't heavy bleeding as usual, but I did bleed, its light, but it was heavy for a day. Any suggestions about this. P.S. I am not on any birth control, so it can't be that.

Well being on birth control pills may help regulate that.
It takes several years for the hormonal system to rebalance from being a child to being a woman. During those years, it is not uncommon to experience something such as you describe. Throughout our lives, our periods can be knocked off schedule by fevers, some illnesses, stress or change of diet, time zone or whatever.
Open's statement regarding birth control pills is generally valid but I would not go onto hormones unless the period becomes wildly erratic or difficult. Do be careful if you are sexually active. If the period is being erratic, ovulation is, too, so you can assume there is no "safe time" even during your period.

I would check with a doctor. When I was in highschool, I went through a period of time when my periods were getting closer and closer together each time. It go to the point where I was having my period almost every other week and it got to the point to where the only thing I was doing was sleeping because it was just draining me. My doctor put me on a birth control pill and it helped so much. My periods were more regular, the period was lighter, and the cramps weren't as intense.
What is weird is that I had almost the same thing happen to me. I got my period 3 weeks late which was just my regular irregularity. (If that makes any sense.)
Then I started on the pill, like my gyno had instructed, the Sunday after starting my period. 2 weeks after taking the pill. I started to bleed lightly on and off for 7 day. Some hours were heavy and would go away. Has this happened to anyone else while starting the pill? Or has anyone heard of it happening? Just wondering.

My girlfriend started on the pill 3 months ago now, the first pack of pills she basicly bled on and off for the whole time it took to consume the pack, as soon as she had the first 7 day break and hit the 2nd pack everything was fine. We now have regular sex without any bleeding or spotting :)
