I use an egg vibrator and enjoy the feeling very much. Hold the egg and pull on the wires to check that they are firmly attached. Then have fun!
You can always use an egg for anal, just put a condom over it so it cannot get lost up there. Really, it is best to use something with a flared base, just to be safe. You may want to consider something like the Cosmic Invader or the Pro Touch. Both vibrate and are good for anal.

There are so many butt-safe toys on the market, why not ease your mind and get something made especially for the ass. Our rule of thumb is that if there isn't a flared base (or something else to prevent accidental slippage), don't stick it in your butt.

Hi friends its so good to see you people discussing about the toys and some of you have also got the practical experience too. My problem is though wife is rather reluctant to venture in this anal sex issue and this has often raised arguments in both of us, I fear if this goes on for long there can soon be serious problems in our relationship. So what do you people think would it be a good idea if I got her a toy like the one mentioned here so that she can first get the feel of the act and then commence on the actual thing? Or will she be never ready for this and I should give up in my attempts?

My suggestion is to have some drinks and sit back on the computer to look at some toys together. Have her read a little bit about the toys and let her imagine what it can feel like. Look at "Beginners Anal" toys and see if she can start small.
Never rush the act of anal and NEVER ARGUE ABOUT IT. It can ruin the experience and it will never happen again (or at all) ;). If it does happen, use lots of lube. And if she is uptight about cleanliness, an anal cleanse with an enema kit beforehand always can help. You don't need to bury yourself deep either, halfway in is always good enough and doesn't cause her too much pain.
