Well I got a new "toy" recently... its a hot pink jelly vibe and I hate it.. lol I think I am allergic... the first time my guy used it on me I thought he ripped me up inside with it because we went to have sex the next day and it hurt something awful...about 2 weeks ago I used it to make him a little home movie while he was away for the week. I was miserable for the whole week after because it felt like I had a horrible yeast infection. To make a long story short I think it must have some kind of latex in it...does anyone know? I cant explain it any other way.. its not dirty I wash it everytime I use it. I figured out I was sensitive to latex the first time I had sex because condoms feel like sand paper on my insides and at work gloves make my hands itchy. If this is the case there should be some form of warning I guess because some people have much more severe reactions!

Allergic

Many products are not posted with latex warnings! It may contain it but either way skip it maybe try one of the glass types?
Another issue may be perhaps there is a petroleum product in it? Petroleum can also be a source for allergies.
I had the same issue with latex condoms as you, it was horrible. I did not realize what was wrong, I was young. Many years later began working in a hospital and when exposed to latex gloves the allergy became worse. Now I cannot even put one on! No latex for me!
So many hospitals are completely latex free you think they would be required to post warning. I had a different one before that wasnt the jelly type and it didnt bother me, guess Ill have to look for something like that. Too bad my boyfriend likes using this one on me haha.
Might be latex or it may be some other ingredient of the plastic you are reacting to. Some plastics, especially soft or pliable ones, take years for the polymerization (curing) to complete. Until then, they can give off some bad stuff. And, at the end, they will be rigid. Glass and silicone are the two substances no one is allergic to.
Pthaylates are used to make hard plastic materials softer (which are found in most jelly materials). Like Brandye said, glass and silicone are hypoallergenic and I've also read that this new material, elastomer, is also pthaylate free. A lot of sex toy companies have started marketing their products now from a pthaylate free perspective. So, when you go to buy a new toy, the person/site/customer service should know whether or not what you are looking at is pthaylate free.
The site I shop at has lots of pthaylate free products, their Tantus line are all silicone and so is their Vibratex stuff. I know I've seen other things on their site that is pthaylate free, but I can't seem to find those off-hand. You could always ask them.
Anyway, yah, you should stop using that vibe. I had an experience like that with a double dildo. It always felt good while I used it, but a few hours to a day later, I was in a TON of pain. It was a very pretty double ended jelly dong. I stay away from jelly now.

Yeah, the problem is that sex toys are considered and sold as "novelty only" items, so there isn't really much regulation. The good thing I've noticed, though, is a lot of companies now make more stuff with those warnings on them. Pipedreams is really good about that and Vibratex and Tantus have always been great.
don't know if this makes sense or not but if you really like the toy would it be possible to use it with a latex free condom on it?? ....just a suggestion!
