Advise on masturbation

i'm 14 and i've masturbated a couple of times but i'm not sure if i'm doing it right. i don't get any pleasure at all when i stick my finger in, only when i rub myself.
can anyone give me any tips?
and does it hurt?

The major point of sexual sensitivity is the clitoris which is outside and well in front of the vaginal entrance. I infrequently insert anything into my vagina whilst masturbating. Most of the action, for me, is two fingers alongside the clitoral hood moving whatever way feels best.

When you want to insert something, then go ahead. There should only be pain if you break your hymen and that lasts only a second. Many women by your age have no hymen remaining because of sport or tampon use.

You are getting an early start with one of life's major pleasures. Here is a list of positive reasons to do it copied from one of the articles on the matter:

"BENEFITS OF MASTURBATING FOR BOYS AND FOR GIRLS--

What are the effects of masturbation happening everyday for a few years including cumming?

Isn't cumming the point?

"For both boys and girls, learning to masturbate to climax helps establish the connections between the millions of sensitive nerve endings in the skin and the pleasure center in the brain. It is a natural part of our maturation. Mother Nature gives us the pleasure center in the brain, the nerve endings, and, the autonomic nervous system that transmits the signals back and forth, yet through some twist of evolution the connects are not established. Practice is how this is accomplished. Boys do this rather matter-of-factly right out of puberty while girls often begin later, if at all.

So, the main reason a girl should learn to masturbate is to transmute from a pre-orgasmic entity into an orgasmic being. It is a learned experience. It is also a conscious decision and effort. For boys, learning is pretty much an automatic activity from the beginning, and a driving force often willing us from then on. For girls, while orgasms are enjoyable, they are not the necessity they are for boys.

Other benefits to masturbating to climax are:
a) stress relief
* sexual
* emotional
* physical

b) as an aid to falling asleep

c) relieving menstrual cramps

d) strengthens the body's immune system and helps
build resistance to common infections

e) stimulates the body to release mood elevating endorphins

f) reduces yeast infections

g) strengthens the pelvic muscles

h) masturbation provides an excellent cardiovascular workout!

i) increases sexual self awareness

...and in a follow-up to the original post, noting that masturbation is also 'FUN'!"

> i don't get any pleasure at all when i stick my finger in, only when i rub myself.

This is to be expected because the inside of the vagina has no sensitive nerve endings. I believe it was Brandye or resident M.D. who remarked that if they did, women would not be giving birth! That said, there is these facts:
a) What is pleasurable to women is the sense of fullness they receive from having something (finger, dildo, penis) filling the vaginal vault
b) There are nerve endings around the outside and just inside the vaginal opening. After you become highly aroused, stimulating yourself here very pleasurable.

Please begin by reading the several articles on female orgasms listed in the Index. Here is a start:

The Anatomy of the Female "O"

> and does it hurt?

Yes and no. The penis and clitoris have common origins. The clitoris can be thought of as a miniature penis, albeit without a urethra, and, with the shaft being buried inside the folds of the Labia Majora.

There are many sensitive nerve endings in the head/glans of the penis. Now, consider its size and imagine all these nerves bundled tightly together in the space of a pencil eraser! The clitoris is therefore extremely sensitive and reactive. It can sometimes become too sore to touch directly. If and when this happens, the fix is to continue stimulating yourself indirectly. This is accomplished by folding the inner lips over the clitoris and massaging or rubbing it indirectly; OR, kneading or rubbing or tugging on the lips thus stimulating the clitoris indirectly, also. You can also use plenty of natural and/or commercial lubes so that less pressure is required.

Once you've broken the hymen, does it not happen again?
And is it ok just to move my finger in and out, or is it more complicated than that?

In your response to your original question, I stated that vaginal action is irrelevant. Read the answers you get.

And read around the Board a bit so you need not ask such questions.

OMG! You know next to nothing.

The hymen does NOT grow back. Once gone - it is gone for good.

You have four hotspots: the clitoris, the G-Spot, the anterior fornix and the posterior fornix. Look them up, then locate and experiment on yourself and find out what you like when, where and how.

Each person has his/her own style when it comes to masturbation - there is no "right" or "wrong" way.
