About Brandye

Brandye is a physician working at a National Health Service clinic in a rather isolated part of Scotland. She was raised in the Hebrides with a Scottish father and German mother.

Her schooling through secondary level was part in Germany and part in Scotland; university in England; medical school in Germany and post-doc work in Canada.

Although not a gynecologist, she is the only woman physician in the region and is favored by younger women and mothers taking their daughters for the “first exam.” Her exams and discussions have become famous in the western Highlands where she is a frequent speaker on women and sexuality.

She is bisexual and has lived for extended periods with both men and women – at different times. Her partner is her oldest friend, a divorced mother of a teenager, a nurse-midwife and also bisexual.

I went to school in both Germany and Scotland; university in England and med school in Germany. three years plus internship. Two years in Canada with about half in Montreal at McGill University and the rest of that program in the field - mostly Labrador and Newfoundland.

Not too hard - about the same as it would be for any woman and in Europe, more than half the med students are women. My dual citizenship and grandparents on faculty made the application process easier.

I would like to know how hard it was for her to become a doctor and also how long it took her. Where abouts did she go in Canda?

I would like to apoligize for doubting Brandye's education and/or agenda in another post. I hadn't noticed this one and it really seems like you guys do your background checks.

This is really embarazing for me.

I'm truly sorry.

McGill? Niice, quite the prestigious school.

How did you like schooling in Newfoundland?
With the prices of foodstuffs 'cause of the method of import there, my friend buys packs of soda and foodstuffs when he's back on the mainland.

The "schooling" was practicing rural medicine in the hinterland. Two of us in an ancient Jeep Cherokee visiting villages and making do with what we had. Betwenn the two of us we could speak five languages - none of which were applicable in some cases. But there were always villagers to help. Great people.

What languages can you speak?
Haha. Had a bit of trouble understanding newfie?
I grew up in a rural area. Beyond the lack of things to do, it's a good feeling to have a sense of community, and who knows, I might raise a family in one.

ooh! very cool! Extremly impressed Brandeye! :D

im just glad to see someone with such knolege has studied just beside my home town makes my proud of my province :)

My fiance' was born in Newfoundland but she's a U.S. citizen cuz her father was in the Armed Forces. She and I will be getting married on May 21, 2011 - and I'm so excited! I've waited and waited for years for someone like her and my dreams are and have finally come true!

BTW, I didn't mean to hi-jack your thread, Brandye. You are a very valuable and knowledgeable person and we're lucky to have you here.

Take Care,
Tony Trout

Quebec really is a nice place, huh Brandye?

I played a playoff match two years ago on the McGill field, felt wonderful, even if we lost...

Congratulations, Tony! I hope you and your bride will have a lifetime of happiness together.
I would love to get married someday. Just waiting for the right guy...oh hum.

Don't give up,i have finally found someone who appreciates and loves me for the person i truly am.I don't know if we'll get married, because i've been down that road and it wasn't a good experience for me,and he's almost been there in the past. But as long as we have each other that's all we need.
