In fact, nature itself is against the idea - please look up the facts on Hostile Mucus. Icky as that sounds. The AMA has the best info. Basicly, if she hasn't been exposed to sperm before a certain age, the muscus guarding her cervix will become spermicidal and thus will actively kill sperm making it impossible for her to have children. The age at which this occurs will vary from woman to woman but generally speaking this occurs somewhere in her 30's.
Men don't get off lightly either. After 40, men experience their own issues such as decreased sperm mobility and decreased sperm quality which decreases a man's effectiveness as a sire. Yes, he can get her pregnant but the chances of this happening are less than they would have been at age 25.

Which is distressing...if you want children. I personally don't....and I already have ~ 5/8 of my genome passed on to the next generation without having to invest in any overt amounts of parental care or interpersonal investment...which is a good deal more than I'd have if I had a kid of my own (and really I'd only want one...).
There is more than one way to skin a cat; as they say.
