Oh, yea...does this ever happen to guys on occasion.
The first time I remember it happening to me was when my wife and I were vacationing in S. F. and were staying in the Mark Hopkins hotel down town. We were having a great time and she had her orgasms and nothing happened for me. As you stated, even masturbating didn't work and what's worse is that I was so aroused it was driving me to try and try and try and try, again!
The fix seems to be to just give your system a rest for awhile as hard as that might be. You'll be stressed from the high level of arousal, but you'll be able to take care of the situation in a couple of hours or so.
The situation is caused by fooling around for a prolonged period of time and simply wearing yourself down, physiologically.
