You are wrong. Read the history of most cultures that are patricentric, patrilineal and male dominated in group decision making. The residual of these societies continue to exist in fundamentalist religious sects (Christian, Judaic, Islam, Animist) all over the world and some crazy laws in various countries regarding female sexual behaviour. This has led to lack of education for women, secondary (or worse) roles for women and quite different treatment of men and women straying from some monogamous standard.
You are correct in men being hard-wired to sleep around. Evolutionary forces are powerful and the biologic role of man is to spread his seed as far and wide as possible. Lord knows, he makes enough seed to share!
A recent book by an am American (female) psychiatrist breaks the feminist taboo about sexual equality by showing that promiscuity has long term deleterious effects on young women. This leaves open the question whether her lowered self-confidence derives culturally (see first paragraph) or biologically; it nonetheless gives real food for thought regarding women matching men in partner for partner in the formative years. Women, themselves, can begin to think of themselves as sluts and this has a deleterious effect on her development as a human.
I daresay that I have had as many male partners (and female partners) as you have had female. I am not particularly proud of that but most of my promiscuity came at university after the formative years. Has it harmed me? Most likely. Would it have harmed me as a male? Only if the world found out about it.
