There is a difference between personnel in general and the military complex as an entity, specifically.

In recent years the branches of our military have been staffed by volunteers. These are people who are not "baby killers" or deviates of another type; rather, they are people who quite literally "join forces" to protect and defend our nation, as well as the freedoms of peoples in other countries.

The girl you speak of is immature, naive, and no doubt very idealistic and intolerant. It would not surprise me that as such she has an agenda that logic fails on one principle: do not confuse me with the facts. Ignore her. You cannot argue or debate the matter with her.

The military is operated and managed through a "chain of command". Ultimately, the top of the chain is civilian, not military. If she has a problem, it is with those civilians who hand down policy. "Baby killers?" This statement indicates that soldiers, airman, marines, and navy personnel, conspire to go after babies. It wouldn't surprise me that bombs have gone off target and killed innocent civilian either by accident or miscalculation; however, this is much different than having this happen by intent and purpose.

A fact that she may not know is that between WWII and now, our weapons and technology have improved greatly. During WWII, bombings were "carpeted" meaning in order to hit one point, many bombs were dropped over a large area. Now we can zero in on one building and even pick a window in the structure to penetrate. Will things not always go as planned? Of course, technology is one thing, human error is still a factor. The intent of the military is to minimize civilian involvement. My questions for this girl are:
* why she believes as she does
* why she does not appreciate the "why" behind the reason for having a defense force
* where she thinks her life would be if she did have a life, if our country's founders did not fight for independence

Arguing and debating with this young girl is futile. Just move on.

Life without dancing?
I don't think so......

The feet may learn the steps;
yet only the spirit can dance!

Dancing is the fastest way to get
a girl alone and into your arms in public.

The Tango smolders and burns. It ignites the
heart, the soul, and yes, the libido.

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass,
it's about learning how to Dance in the Rain!

Dance as if nobody is watching.
