Whatever happened to using your voice for arranging dates? A person's voice can be so enticing and enhance the questions of where and when or even if. A person's voice is so much more personal and intimate than "something black and white and 're(a)d' all over".
If you wish to utilize modern technology then why not mention VoIP or Skype in your recommendation?
I'm glad you did not mention Twitter, I don't think I could make arrangements in twenty five words or less!
I've heard of people, mostly teens, who t/m hundreds of messages a day every day, another reason for using the telephone is to make certain your message is heard. Messaging someone might mean that your very important question could be lost in the clutter for a few hours; the same goes for E-mail.
Overall, I like your suggestion. It is not new or unique, except to you, because like dlb has stated, people have been making these arrangements for decades--before there was t/m, e-m, & now Twitter!

Life without dancing?
I don't think so......
The feet may learn the steps;
yet only the spirit can dance!
Dancing is the fastest way to get
a girl alone and into your arms in public.
The Tango smolders and burns. It ignites the
heart, the soul, and yes, the libido.
Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass,
it's about learning how to Dance in the Rain!
Dance as if nobody is watching.
