my girlfriends were not receptive initially but after we had it, they appreciates it a few even likes it. I guess the experience at the first time is very important - it either opens up your option (when you likes it) or you get totally put off and never want to do it again.
The trick is to learn everything about it so you know what to expect - and of course, dont rush it and take the time to really enjoy it.
