Using a condom properly plus vaginal spermicide (jelly, foam, film) gives about the same pregnancy protection as a hormonal system such as the pill.
The decision about medication going into her body is hers and hers alone. When she and her doctor discuss the alternatives, she will make a decision but the pill is not the only approach to hod up her side of the responsibility. The spermicide is.
