Yikes, sera... Please pay a little more attention before responding next time. You've completely failed to answer my actual question, which was: Is that physical damage (sloughing of surface epithelia) significant
by itself? It's a given that such damage makes disease transmission easier. Without that concern (hypothetically, let's say both parties are disease-free), does it matter that the epithelium might slough off?
