I agree. As a parent you may not care for your child's choice BUT you need to inform them & to teach them safe practices. Palin eloped and 8 months later her son was born; knowing this how can you now force her daughter's b/f into a marriage? For political purposes and to further her political agenda? Teaching abstinence does not work!
Meanwhile, all sex ed funding is cut here in the US by ultra conservatives and those in the bible belt, funding of Planned Parenthood suffers due to the economy since it's a non-profit organization. The potential to overturn Roe v. Wade is at risk and the right to choose to abort a child which is incompatible with life will be forced upon couples & women. These are not choices made randomly without thought among women.
People need to be aware of the politics and the constituents for election purposes. Hence, why separation of church & state should be held to the highest standards. After all, it must be a choice one or couples live with for life...prevention is key and the only way to obtain such is through education. This study demonstrated education caused those non-US couples to wait until older.
However, it's still a thought which is thought of as dirty. One is fortunate as a parent [or an individual] if pregnancy is the worse outcome since HIV is the real fear.
