Hymens come in a variety of shapes, sizes, whole patterns, and thickness'. A doctor or nurse cannot tell whether a hymen eroded away naturally, was torn from riding horseback, playing a sport, using a Tampon, or, is just naturally tiny.
Many young girls do not finger the vagina when masturbating. If you do, fine, because in and around the opening are many sensitive nerve endings that feel good to touch when very aroused. If you break your hymen intentionally or not, who will know how unless you tell.
More importantly, what is between you and your doctor stays between the two of you unless there is some important medical concern. The state of your virginity is not something s/he will share with a parent.
Bottom line: Until a penis is inserted into your vagina, you are and will continue to be a virgin. (Fingers, dildos and other toys do not count.)
