Much has to do with WHAT you did with this person and the degree of contact to assess risks. Hopefully, it's a non-issue for you. I am pleased though you have been evaluated. Remember always safe sex practices & if there is a issue get checked ASAP.
Hopefully, it's nothing more than a minor bacterial infection, inflammation, perhaps exacerbated by your personal creams & the moisture in the region. The cold/flu symptoms? Well, having a sinus infection can cause the flu/cold such as low grade fevers, malaise, fatigue, etc. and there is much of that going around. For your own sake, it's not much. Let us know the outcome & if any re-occurrence in the region get to the doc for a check up.
